🚗 RGS Pick-Up & Drop-Off Reminder 🚗 As we get ready for another great school year, please remember to utilize the circle drive behind RGS (north side of the building) for student pick-up and drop-off. This process helps us make sure all of our students are dropped off and picked up safely each day. A couple quick reminders: • Please pull forward as far as you can when space is available. This helps keep the line moving and prevents traffic from backing up. • If an older sibling will be dropping off or picking up your child, please take a few minutes to review these procedures with them as well. • Please be patient, especially during the first few days as everyone gets back into the routine. Thank you for helping us keep our Dawgs safe and making pick-up and drop-off run as smoothly as possible! Go Dawgs! 🐾

Dear Rossville Grade School Families,

Welcome to another exciting school year at Rossville Grade School! It is hard to believe that this marks my 10th year as principal. Time has certainly flown by, and I continue to feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve the students, families, and staff of RGS.

Over the past nine years, I've had the incredible privilege of watching kindergarten students grow into young adults, welcoming new families to our school, and celebrating countless milestones along the way. While a lot has changed over the years, one thing hasn't—Rossville has always been home. I grew up here, attended Rossville schools, and now have the incredible honor of serving the very community that helped shape who I am. Being principal at Rossville Grade School is more than a job; it's an opportunity to give back to a place that has given so much to me and my family.

The relationships we've built with our students, families, staff, and community are what make RGS so special. Every August, I'm reminded how fortunate I am to work in a school where people genuinely care about one another, celebrate each other's successes, and come together when challenges arise. There truly is something special about being a Rossville Dawg, and I'm thankful to be part of it every single day.

As we begin another school year, one thing remains unchanged: our students come first. We want every child to walk through our doors feeling safe, valued, encouraged, and excited to learn. We know that every child is unique, with different strengths, interests, and dreams. Our responsibility is to help every student grow academically, socially, emotionally, and as a person. Just as importantly, we want RGS to be a place where children love coming to school each day.

The incredible staff at RGS shares that same commitment. They care deeply about your children and work tirelessly to create classrooms where students are challenged, supported, encouraged, and celebrated. I continue to be amazed by their passion, creativity, and willingness to go above and beyond for kids. We truly have an exceptional team, and I couldn't be more proud to work alongside them.

One lesson I've learned over the past decade is that the best schools are built on strong partnerships. Education works best when families and schools work together. Whether it's celebrating successes, overcoming challenges, volunteering, attending school events, or simply staying connected, your involvement makes a tremendous difference. Thank you for trusting us with your greatest gift each day.

As we kick off another school year, I encourage every student to work hard, be kind, be curious, and never be afraid to make mistakes. Some of the greatest learning happens when we step outside our comfort zones. We will celebrate effort, encourage perseverance, and challenge every student to become the best version of themselves.

Whether this is your family's first year at RGS or you've been with us for many years, please know that my door is always open. If you ever have questions, concerns, or simply want to visit, don't hesitate to reach out. We are honored to partner with you in your child's education, and we are committed to making this an outstanding school year.

Thank you for your continued trust, support, and partnership. Serving as principal of Rossville Grade School for the past ten years has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I cannot wait to see what this school year has in store for our students, staff, and families.

Go Dawgs!

Sincerely,

Travis Van Vleck

Kaw Valley USD 321 celebrates Kristy Dyche, Board Clerk today!!

This year, KASB is excited to introduce Board Clerk Appreciation Day on Jan. 28! Board clerks play a vital role in keeping districts running smoothly, supporting board operations and ensuring things stay organized.

Board clerks are often the behind-the-scenes anchors of a district — keeping records accurate, supporting board operations, preparing meeting materials and ensuring everything runs smoothly from month to month. Their organization, expertise and steady leadership make a tremendous difference for local boards and school communities.

Thank you for all you do, Kristy!
