The Advanced Woodworking class was excited about today! They are finally getting to make sawdust after completing their plans.

First year members of the high school FFA, known as Greenhands, traveled to Silver Lake to learn about opportunities in the FFA and listen to a keynote by Kansas FFA Vice President Riley Sturgis. William L. placed in the top 25 on the Greenhand Test.

The Lady Bears went without a win but battled hard at Royal Valley against the Panthers and Riley County. Come support the Lady Bears next Tuesday at home!

The Lady Bears spent the day at Riley County and ended the day 2-3. They will be back in action on Tuesday at Royal Valley. Go Bears!

The Bears fall 0-21 at Riley County. Come out for homecoming next Friday as the Bears take on Perry-Lecompton. Go Bears!

The high school cross country team competed in the Wamego Invitational this morning. There was much improvement seen throughout our races, as five runners came away with course PRs, two of which knocked off five minutes from their times at last year's Wamego Invitational! Its been great seeing the progress being made in the early goings of the season, and we look forward to see what improvements we can make at the Jason McKinney Memorial Meet in Alma next Saturday, September 19th. Go Bears!

The college biology students are pondering their results in testing for starch, protein, and simple sugars in various foods.

In Agricultural Business students explored the costs of materials, designed and assembled corsages for Homecoming and FFA week. They entered them at the Kansas State Fair in the FFA division. Good luck Marcel and Ellie!

Heading to Riley County to support the Bears football team? Enjoy breakfast for dinner at the game! If it doesn't rain anymore the visitor parking south of the stadium will be open at 6:00 PM. Please do not park on the side of the highway if you arrive prior to 6:00.

It was another busy night for the Bears! The HS volleyball team traveled to Jeff West to take on JW and Hiawatha. Varsity 1-1, JV 0-2, C 1-1. The JH football and volleyball teams took on Perry-Lecompton at home. 8th A and 7th B both fell while 7th A won in 2 sets. On the football field the Bears lost a close one 12-14. Go Bears!

The botany students collected leaves and flowers for the plant press!

It was a full day of volleyball for our Lady Bears! HS traveled to Nemaha Central to play NC and Holton. Varsity 0-2, JV 0-2 and C 0-2. JH hosted Jeff West tonight. 7th A team came out with a win while 8th A and 7th B both fell. Go Bears!

The biology students are doing a lab on heart rate to see how the body maintains homeostasis. Here, they are running in place as a stimulus to increase their heart rate.

The Lady Bears volleyball team traveled to Jeff West today and ended the day 3-2 with a 4th place finish! Go Bears!

The St. Marys Cross Country runners took to the course for the first time this morning in Topeka. Many strong races were ran, and there is much potential this group can accomplish by continual improvement going forward!
Also, a congratulations to our two medalists in the junior high races. Alex O'Halloran placed 5th in the 8th grade boys division and Elana Harmon placed 3rd in the 8th grade girls division!
