Third graders had a great field trip to the St. Marys Indian Pay Station Museum Complex. Thank you to Ms. Sumner and Mr. Steele for taking the time to explain the rich history of St. Marys and the surrounding community.

Miss Serb's dad, Mr. Serb, joined her 5th grade social studies class to present and discuss Native Americans and their influence during Colonial times. He introduced the class to many items including: various furs, beads, buffalo hide and skull, leather, wooden bow, flintlock, knife and hawks, arrowheads, a "horn-book", and traps. Mr. Serb discussed trading furs and beads for steel and knives. He also discussed the method of tanning furs into leathers using salt and arrowheads as knives.
