School Bus Safety Week!
Every year during the month of October, Mrs. Kramer completes an ELA unit with her 5th graders called “The Run”. “The Run” is a 7 part fiction series set during a zombie apocalypse; and each part leaves the students on a cliffhanger which makes them want to keep reading! Last week we reached the halfway point of the series, which means the students needed to complete a writing project where they got the chance to write how they think the story should end. They then got the opportunity to share their writing with the class with the lights dimmed and their choice of a spooky song to play in the background!
George M. got to make a Pawsitive Call Home today! When a friend was struggling to meet their AR goal, George stepped in by helping select books that are in the friend's level and helped them with reading. Way to be a good friend and classmate!

Give the student body a task and they are ALL IN! What a great turn out for our very first Walk & Roll event. Walkers, scooters, and bikers showed incredible responsibly by exercising safe practices and donning necessary protective gear. Thank you to SRO Eric Coleman and SRO Frank Schiavo for organizing this fun event and to St. Marys Police Department for the escort to our front door! Thank you to the SMHS Cheer Team for cheering us on through the finish line. And of course, thank you to our incredible students for representing SMGS. GO Bears!!

We are once again partnering with the Pottawatomie County Health Department to provide a flu shot clinic for our schools and community! The clinic is open to students, staff, families, and community members.
