IMPORTANT POLICY UPDATE!
In compliance with Kansas House Bill 2299, Kaw Valley USD 321 is implementing new guidelines for cell phones/personal devices and staff & student communication.
The bill requires each school district to adopt policies and procedures regarding student use of personal devices during the school day to:
● Prohibit student access and use of personal devices during the school day;
● Require all personal devices to be turned off and securely stored in a location
that is:
○ Not on the student’s person; and
○ Inaccessible to the student
Students' personal devices MUST be powered off and stored OUT OF SIGHT during the entire school day.
Each building will make available a phone for student use when necessary. Please ensure parent contact information for your student(s) is updated in Powerschool.

Elaine is beginning her 17th year in education. In addition to teaching 1 year in Maryland, she has taught in Lakin, Garden City and Leoti. She enjoys the interaction with students and helping them to succeed. She is looking forward to getting to know the staff and students at Rossville Jr/Sr High School!

Rossville Jr/Sr High School is excited to announce Joe Zimmer as the new Assistant Principal/Athletic Director!
Mr. Zimmer and his family live in Topeka, where his wife is the CFO at the Sunflower Foundation. Mr. Zimmer and his wife have three children, Aven, who will be a 5th grader next school year, Alaric, who will be a freshman, and Axyl who will be a junior.
This will be Mr. Zimmer's 16th year in education. He has spent the last six years at Rossville Jr/Sr High school where he taught HS Math and was also theTrack and Cross Country coach.
"I am looking forward to the starting the upcoming school year where we will continue our successes from this previous year."

Message from Dr. Shaw:
We are lucky enough to have an upgraded system for the high school’s fire alarm system! However, this means the system will be down until Sunday evening and it is unsafe to have students in the building without a working system, so:
***NO DRUM CAMP for the rest of this week and SUMMER BAND CAMP WILL START MONDAY, NOT SUNDAY***-
and continue through Thursday from 6:30-9:30pm. This also means we lose a day of work so please do not miss and come prepared to work!
Our Tall Corn Band, Cheer, and Dance performance on Friday afternoon (4:30pm call time, 6:00pm starts the National Anthem, Fight Song, and then a few songs, then dismissed after things are put away), and the Tall Corn parade on Saturday morning (8am call time to pick up instruments at band room, 9am call at Methodist Church parking lot, performance starts 9:30-10am. Done, put away instruments and can leave when dismissed).
Thanks for your fluidity and Go Dawgs!
