The week of October 23rd we celebrated Red Ribbon Week bringing attention to being kind to your mind and pledging to be bully and drug free. For this week we had fun wearing red, had a pj day, wore some crazy clothes and even set aside class time to do a school wide hooked on books read!

The first ever AED Awareness class for USD 321 was completed yesterday during Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Awareness Month. This class will be offered to 6th graders annually and will teach the students where to find and how to use an AED, as well as learning proficient Hands-Only CPR.

Mr. Medley stopped by during National School Bus Safety week to talk to our kindergartners about bus safety and to read the book, "Don't Let Pigeon Drive the Bus!" to our students.




Mrs. Sumner visited with SMGS third graders about the Potawatomi Indians. The Potawatomi Indians are plains Indians who are native to our community. Students got to hold parts of a buffalo and discuss how the buffalo was vital to their survival. She also helped us build our own teepees which were common in many Indian tribes, but not the plains Indian tribes.

SMGS hosted a Family Activity Evening for students to attend during parent teacher conferences. Activities and games were focused on Math and Literacy and included drawings for prizes.





SMGS very own Pumpkin Patch!
The booster club generously bought each student a pumpkin from Reamer's Pumpkins and created our very own outdoor pumpkin patch for each student to go out and pick their own!
